"Into The Sun" - 44" x 44", 52" x 52" framed, installed in the Upper Library of Boys' Latin School next to the
Ziolkowski Collection.

On September 7, the memory and legacy of Nicholas Ziolkowski was again honored, this time at his school, Boys' Latin School of Maryland, Baltimore. The portrait Nicholas Simmons undertook last year as a tribute, was unveiled at the school's annual convocation in front of a large crowd on a beautiful, sunny day. There was a reception in the Upper Library of the school where the portrait will hang, and Nicholas Simmons delivered a talk on the background of the project.

The painting is based on a photograph of Nicholas Ziolkowski taken in Iraq. The background of the work is composed of a letter Nick wrote to his mother while serving; the handwriting was duplicated using a digital projector.
