Summer Sonata was awarded the Margaret Jones Memorial Silver Medal at the Baltimore Watercolor Society's 2008 Mid-Atlantic Regional Watercolor Exhibtion. The juror was Skip Lawrence. Thank you BWS and Skip!

This full page Da Vinci ad appears on page 5 of the June issue of Watercolor Artist magazine, and page 9 of the May issue of The Artist's Magazine. April 2008Thanks to Plaza Art and Da Vinci Paint for sponsoring the workshop in Rockville. A lot of people got turned on to Da Vinci's fluid acrylic paint, and the class enjoyed applying some novel techniques with them. Due to the response, another workshop is being planned for June 21-22, and a possible design/composition class is also being considered. See the Plaza Art site or the Workshop page for details.

Summer Sonata (above) will be in the Baltimore
Watercolor Society's 2008 Mid-Atlantic Regional
Exhibition. The show opens April 12, and the reception
is Sunday, April 27 at 1:00 PM at Strathmore
Mansion in Bethesda. Nicholas will be exhibiting again at the Ratner Museum
in Bethesda, Maryland, December 2009. In 2009, Nicholas will be exhibiting with Janine Gallizia,
Joseph Zbukvik, Alvaro Castagnet, Robert Wade, Xavier
Swolfs and others in Paris, France.
March 2008The workshop at Art Center Sarasota was really successful, and it was another great group of painters. Thanks to all who participated and attended the demo! (see new comments on the Workshop page) After three consecutive years there, Nicholas will next visit in 2010. A workshop at Venice Art Center is tentatively being planned for early 2009.
The March workshop at Plaza Art in Rockville, Maryland is sold out with a large waiting list. Due to the response, another two-day class is being scheduled for June 21-22. See the Workshop page or the Plaza Art site soon for more details. There is one space left for the Dallas workshop in June, contact Doris Vasek for information.
Nicholas will be the first featured artist on the homepage of the new Da Vinci Paint website when it launches in mid-March. Also look for Da Vinci ads in Watercolor Artist and The Artist's Magazine depicting Nicholas and his work.
The exhibition planned by Janine Gallizia in Belgium in October is postponed due to governmental problems. However, Nicholas will be exhibiting with Janine and several notable artists in Saint-Laurent-sur-Gorre, France July - Aug 2008: "It is the best watercolour show in France, and is an annual event. The exhibition is held in one of the stone buildings of the Château des Feuillades. There are several thousand visitors. This years list is the most impressive to date. With artists coming from France, Belgium, England, US, Australia, China etc."
Nicholas' DVD from Creative Catalyst Productions is almost finished! It took a long time to edit, but there is a lot of content and a lot of decisions to make. It will also feature original music composed and performed by the artist.
Fresh Sushi is featured on the homepage of the Fallbrook Art Center. The Award-Winning National Watermedia Fine Art Show runs from Feb. 3- Mar. 16.
